Pet Policies

policies to please puppies, ponies & people

Billie Jean and Charlie are two young Australian red cattle dogs who call Yarrabandai Creek Homestead home. These two love a pat, getting up to puppy mischief and will fetch the ball all day long if you let them. They will probably swing by during your stay to say hello.

These two are members of our Yarrabandai Creek Homestead family and as such, we understand that your puppies are just furry members of your family who deserve to come on holidays too.

Therefore, we offer dog and horse friendly accommodations for you and your fur babies in the NSW Central West with just a few little rules to make sure that the experience is great for everyone: puppies, ponies and people alike.

Unfortunately animals like cats and birds can pose a threat to the natural environment and ecosystem here at YCH, so we ask that you leave them in good care at home.

Puppy Policy

  • Well behaved, house trained dogs under the control and supervision of their responsible owners are welcome indoors, but not on any furniture or beds

  • Please bring bedding, toys, food and any other supplies your pet may require during their stay

  • All dogs  will receive a bag of treats on arrival

  • A water and food bowl is provided on the verandah of your cabin

  • For the protection of local wildlife, stock and your pet, your dog must be on a leash when roaming the property and must be under their owners control and supervision at all times whilst unleashed around your cabin

  • Please don’t leave your pet unattended in the cabin or on the property

  •  Dogs are easily bored and we don't want our furniture becoming your dog's new chew toy

  • A fee of $10 per day will be charged to cover the additional cleaning and costs associated with dogs

  • We all know that dogs can do no wrong, but in the unlikely event that your dog misbehaves and chews up a pillow or rips up our garden, you as the owner are responsible for ALL property damages and/or personal injuries resulting from your dog

  • Notification that your dog will be joining you during your stay is required at least 24 hours prior to your arrival, but preferably at the time of your booking

Pony Policy

  • We have plenty of space here to cater for your horse. Our fenced paddocks allow your horse to stretch their legs and explore all that Yarrabandai Creek Homestead has to offer

  • A Travelling Stock Route (TSR) passes right past Yarrabandai Creek Homestead and provides a lovely trail for riders of all experience levels

  • Your horse may be placed in a paddock with other horses. Please inform us if this may cause an issue for either yours or other horses in the paddock

  • You will need to bring your own feed (we are currently in drought and the grass in the paddocks can be patchy at times depending on stock rotations)

  • An additional fee of $15 per night will be charged to cover costs associated with adjisting your horses

  • Owners are responsible for ALL property damages and/or personal injuries resulting from your horse while staying with us at Yarrabandai Creek Homestead

  • Notification that your horse will be joining you during your stay is required at least 24 hours prior to your arrival, but preferably at the time of your booking

We are really looking forward to having you, your dogs and horses stay with us. If you have any questions about our Puppy or Pony Policies, please contact us
